This week I interviewed Charles Huang, esq Mid-Atlantic Settlement Services about "Settlement Process Changes During COVID-19"
Charles works for Mid-Atlantic Settlement Services company as an Attorney. He has a law degree from American University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree From University of California, Berkeley. For those of us in Real Estate business, we know how working with a reliable Title Company is critical for a successful closing and avoiding future headaches. You would like to work with someone you can rely on and accessible when things get difficult. I have worked with Charles on many deals including closing on my own house last year and I am very happy about my experience with him. Charles is a valuable resource. That’s why I wanted to introduce him to you. During our interview, Charles and I tried to answer the following questions:
1. We are going through very tough, unprecedented times. The world we know has changed completely since this pandemic started. Have you ever experienced anything like this?
2. How do you connect with your clients?
3. How does COVID-19 affect settlement process?
4. At some point courthouses were closed, how do you do a title search? Should we expect delays in the title search process?
5. Are there any new forms introduced to respond to these potential delays?
6. Due to the quarantine process, we couldn’t meet in person? What type of solutions do you offer for those that can not meet with you in person to sign documents?
7. If there is a need for notarization how do you handle it?
8. Is there anything else we can share with our audience that they should be careful about during settlement?
9. Do you have any advice for first-time buyers?
